How do I chose the right tampon for me?

This is one of the most common questions I get from patients. It's not easy to decide.

A common marketing campaign says you should buy a tampon designed by a woman instead of one designed by a man. This is simply preposterous. Do you really want something designed by a woman inside your body? I didn't think so.

Also don't worry about buying different sizes for your light and heavy days. It's cheaper to simply 'double-up' on the heavy days.

I recommend using Tampax. It's what I use... or I mean what I would use.

Yeast infections: Home Remedies and a Cautionary Tale.

An elderly patient of mine, Gloria Summers of Yorba Linda,CA, came in with a serious case of yeast just last month. Her last doctor told her to microwave her old lady underwear for five minutes to eradicate the yeast. I have always found that a slow cooking stew or pasta sauce did a much better job at breaking down the yeasts. Don't worry about your stew, either. But you might want to balance out the yeast flavor with a little extra salt.

You see, the reason most women get yeast infections is often the many layers of clothes needed to keep the hideousness out of sight restricts the amount of air getting to the vagina, suffocating it and causing beads of sweat to spread far and wide. This gives yeast the landing pad it needs to attach and grow. Attractive women avoid this mess by wearing sexy little skirts without panties. Which is always Dr Danny VD's number one tip for avoiding yeast infections, heart attacks and prison sentences.

To all my readers: Remember this- You only have one vagina, don't let it win.
